Clinton Wins 3 States; Obama Wins In Vermont; Huckabee Exits Presidential Race; McCain Clinches GOP Nomination

On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York won democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island. Barack Obama of Illinois won the democratic primary in Vermont.


John McCain of Arizona won republican primaries in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Mike Huckabee exited the presidential race. McCain clinched the Republican GOP nomination.

Obama and McCain Win in Wisconsin and Washington Primaries. Obama Wins Hawaii Caucus.

On Tuesday, February 19, 2008, Barack Obama of Illinois won the Wisconsin and Washington Democratic Primaries. Obama also won the Hawaii Democratic Caucus.

John McCain of Arizona won the Wisconsin and Washington Republican Primaries.

Obama Sweeps 3 States, Huckabee Wins 2 States, McCain Wins 1 State

On Saturday, February 9, 2008, Barack Obama of Illinois won the Democratic Illinois primary, the Democratic Nebraska caucus, and the Democratic Washington state caucus. Obama also won the Democratic Virgin Islands election.

Mike Huckabee of Arkansas won the Republican Kansas caucus and the Republican Illinois primary. John McCain of Arizona won the Republican Washington state caucus.

Mitt Romney Suspends His 2008 Presidential Campaign

On Thursday, February 07, 2008, Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts suspended his 2008 Presidential Campaign. “I must now stand aside, for our party and our country.” Romney told his supporters. Romney invested $40 million of his own money in his campaign. Romney was behind in the presidential race. So far in the republican presidential candidate elections: McCain led with 707 delegates, Romney had 294 delegates, and Huckabee had 195 delegates.
