(click on image for video)On Tuesday, June 3, 2008, Barak Obama of Illinois won the democratic primary in Montana by a margin of 57 percent to Hillary Clinton’s 42 percent. Hillary Clinton of New York won the South Dakota democratic primary with a margin of 55 percent to Obama’s 44 percent.
Obama obtained the 2,118 delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination for president. Obama became the first black democratic presidential nominee.
Clinton refused to concede. Clinton told supporters, “This has been a long campaign, and I will be making no decisions tonight.”
